Virtual Community Now Open For Folks Recovering From Addiction

In Celebration of International Recovery Day Monuments and Structures Across The Nation Will Illuminate in Purple on September 30th

BRADENTON, F.L., March. 30, 2020 - Adamus, a digital, creative and marketing firm is pleased to announce the completion of a new project for International Recovery Day, Inc., dedicated to the global celebration of recovery from addition.

Bridging geographic barriers, International Recovery Day (IRD) offers a virtual way for all in recovery from addiction to celebrate their recovery together around the globe and on the same day - September 30th - a date marked on calendars as International Recovery Day. This virtual celebration is a free online event globally launched on September 30, 2020 at internationalrecoveryday.org.

"We are thrilled to be working with Adamus to create this unique website. Our historic online inaugural event on September 30, 2020 embraces all recovery pathways from all addictions - and shifts the focus from the ravages of addiction to the hope offered by folks in recovery worldwide," says IRD founder John Winslow.

Registration for September 30th, 2020 event is now open at https://internationalrecoveryday.org/registration/. Once registered, participants will receive an email with a "digital token" enabling them to partake in this free online celebration. The digital token is key to launching celebratory fireworks on September 30th, 2020. Beginning at midnight, across each time zone, participants will have a 16-hour window with their launch pads activated. Once the 16-hour window passes, the application will tally the data submitted including the number of years in recovery, the number of launched fireworks and the number of participating countries in order to update the worldwide recovery map.

"International Recovery Day is a fabulous idea," says Dr. Nancy Rosen-Cohen the executive director of the Maryland Chapter of the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence. "This event is going to help connect recovering individuals, families, and communities globally and send a message to the world that we do recover!"

The launch of virtual fireworks on International Recovery Day, symbolizes the hope and help that is offered through different recovery pathways and allows participants to celebrate their success with overcoming addiction. The global celebration can be watched in real time on September 30th at https://globe.internationalrecoveryday.org/.

"We are very excited about our partnership with IRD," says Adamus CEO Sylwia Majewski. "The launch of this website marks the birth of a new virtual community on a global scale. People from all over the world can join this virtual community, share their stories, inspire others and I truly believe this is only the beginning..."

Recovery Lights represent yet another important component in the global celebration of International Recovery Day where on September 30th monuments, bridges and other symbolic structures, will be illuminated in purple - the color representing the Recovery community.
